Skill Sheet
Sums and Differences of Cubes

Example of sum of cubes:

(x3+216) …… a is x and b is 6……. so, you can factor this into (x+6)(x2-6x+36)

Example of difference of cubes:

(8x3+27)…….a is 2x and b is 3…..so, this can be factored into (2x-3)(4x2+6x+9)

[TIP:  It would be great to have the formulas for sum and differences of cubes in your mental mathematical toolbox!]
